As a frequent traveler, I’ve discovered countless hacks to maximize my experiences and minimize my expenses. One of my most valuable finds has been the Capital One Venture X Card. This premium travel card offers a range of benefits that have transformed my journeys, including complimentary airport lounge access.
If you haven’t used an airport lounge before, they look kind of like that (pictured left).
I did unlimited research on this card before I chose it, and the benefits far outweighed the downsides (if there are any? Haven’t noticed any yet).
The Annual Fee: A Surprising Value (Actually FREE)
While the $395 annual fee sounds insane (trust me, I did a double take too), it’s offset before you even swipe the card. You receive $400 in annual benefits (not including sign-on bonuses or other perks), seriously EVERY year.
- $300 Annual Travel Credit: Use this credit towards flights, hotels, or rental cars. Capital One even offers price matching, ensuring you always get the best deal.
- $100 Annual Anniversary Bonus: Enjoy an additional $100 to spend on travel each year.
Beyond the Annual Benefits
In addition to the annual credits, the Capital One Venture X Card offers a host of other valuable perks:
- Priority Pass Membership: Access thousands of airport lounges worldwide, including Priority Pass Select lounges. With the card, you can even bring up to two guests per visit.
- $99-459 annually (guests are additional), if purchased separately.
- Travel Perks: Enjoy benefits like TSA PreCheck and Global Entry for free ($100 value)
- Rewards Program: Earn 10x points on hotels & rental cars, 5x points on flights, and 2x points on all other purchases.
- Price Match: Get the guaranteed LOWEST travel prices by booking through their platform
- Price Drop Protection, Alerts, & Flexible Travel: There are so many features, I don’t have a clue how they make any money making it THIS EASY to save on travel.
- Discounts: They are constantly adding vouchers for $$$ off certain destinations, airlines, hotels, etc.
My Experience
The sign-up bonus alone was a game-changer for me. I received $750 in travel credit my first year, which I used to book three weeks of hotels.
