Ibiza. Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re thinking – thumping basslines, neon lights, and enough glitter to blind a disco ball. But hold on a sec, party people, because there’s way more to this island than meets the eye.
My recent trip was all about ditching the dance floor and diving headfirst into the hidden gems Ibiza has to offer.
Ferry tales and finding my paradise
My adventure began in Denia, Spain, where I hopped on a ferry for a quick cruise across the crystal-clear Mediterranean.
Pro tip for you savvy travelers: Renting a car after 7 pm can be a bit of a mission, so either plan to arrive earlier or smooth things over with the rental company beforehand. Trust me, you don’t want to be stuck waiting around after a long journey.
If you don’t plan to party, then you 100% need a car on the island, public transport doesn’t allow you to get to some of the best spots. I rented my car from DiscoverCars for the best deal.
Picture waking up to this million-dollar ocean view every morning, the sound of the waves lulling you back to sleep every night. Pure bliss!
This tranquil spot was a world away from the pulsating energy of O Beach, the infamous party central. Having a rental car turned out to be a game-changer.
The island unfurled before me like a treasure map, with it’s rolling hills, charming villages with whitewashed houses and terracotta roofs, and secret coves begging to be explored.

For the thrill-seekers out there, Ibiza boasts some epic hikes.
My personal favorite was to Punta Grossa lighthouse (pictured). The climb might leave you breathless (in a good way!), but the panoramic views of the coastline and the sparkling sea are totally worth it.
Sant Antoni de Portmany is another must-do, especially if you’re chasing Instagram-worthy sunsets.
Foodie fiesta: From Thai delights to unforgettable ravioli
Now, let’s talk about the most important thing on any vacation – food! My taste buds went on a global adventure, savoring both local and international flavors.
POM Thai restaurant stole a piece of my heart (and stomach) with the most phenomenal Thai food I’ve ever devoured. Seriously, it was like a flavor explosion in my mouth!
The curries were bursting with spices, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the chicken satay was unlike anything I’d ever tasted before.
For a truly unique dining experience, La Luna Nell’ Orto was a revelation. The cool, trendy vibes perfectly complemented the exquisite Mediterranean fare.
Imagine sitting under a canopy of fairy lights, surrounded by lush greenery, as you savor the freshest local ingredients transformed into culinary masterpieces.
Here’s where I had the most tender beef I’ve ever encountered, cooked to absolute perfection. And the ravioli? Let’s just say it was pure heaven in a little pasta pocket. My taste buds are still thanking me! All pictured above!
Secret coves and sunset beats
Venturing further afield, I stumbled upon Cala Llentia, a secluded cove that felt like a world away from everything. We went there for the massive Time and Space monument as well.
The water on the other side offered a beautiful view, and it was well worth it for us to venture out in the rain to catch a glimpse at this.
Now, Cala Benirrás was a whole different experience. This beach was undeniably beautiful, with dramatic rock formations and crystal-clear turquoise water.
There was an abundance of nude sunbathers, but what really caught my attention were these beach aerobics.
The day was further enlivened by the enchanting sounds of local musicians performing on the beach, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere.
No island adventure is complete without a killer breakfast spot, and Ibiza didn’t disappoint. The Boat House became my go-to for mornings filled with sunshine and spectacular ocean views.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect fuel for my daily explorations. The avocado toast with goat cheese was exactly what I needed, and the words “enjoy” were written in my cappuccino foam, all with a breathtaking ocean panorama as the backdrop. The perfect way to start any adventure!
What are you waiting for?
So ditch the preconceived notions, dust off your swimsuit, and pack your sense of adventure! Ibiza is a kaleidoscope of experiences waiting to be discovered.
Imagine yourself scaling a coastal cliff with the Mediterranean Sea shimmering below, then indulging in the most decadent pasta of your life under a canopy of twinkling lights.
Float in a hidden cove so secluded you could swear you have the whole island to yourself, then groove to the rhythm of live music at sunset. Ibiza is more than just a party island; it’s a playground for the curious soul, a feast for the senses, and a haven for creating memories that will last a lifetime.
