One of my favorite places to party, Nashville, TN. I got to explore this popping town with 4 of my friends who flew in to meet me. I’ve been before, but I was finally 21 when I went this time, so it was even better. Most of the places from the previous trip had closed down, but we found some great replacements.
A Nice Spot to Stay
We started out the trip by checking in at the Hyatt House, which was less than 2 miles from downtown and offered a free shuttle service downtown (be mindful of the hours of service). The hotel was perfect, and incredibly cheap for the 5 of us. We had a half kitchen with a stovetop and a full fridge. The kitchen island and L seat couch added to our enjoyment, and made it easier to separate the bedroom from the living room. It was pretty affordable for us to split between us for the 4 nights, but parking was a bit pricey.
Eating, Drinking, and Partying
We took the Bird scooters to downtown to give them a test ride, and started our official trip at Robbie’s Western World to grab some cheap drinks and food. We got food for less than $10, and they sold domestics for only $2.50 each.
Next up, we went back to get ready for the night and then headed to the Whiskey Shot where we could shoot fake guns at targets for a bunch of different games while drinking. At the time of writing, it cost $60 for the group of 5 to play, and then we got some really good nachos (extra $) in addition to our drinks. A lot of the guitars didn’t work very well, but I think it would be good for a group of 2-3.
Then we headed back to Printer’s Alley, which I would definitely recommend checking out at night. Jason Aldean’s was our last stop where we danced the night away at their rooftop bar and had an incredible time. They have three stories, in addition to the rooftop, and play different music on each floor.
One of the first spots we checked out was the Donut Distillery, which started our very hungover day. You can get flights of beer or coffee cocktails all paired with a donut the size of a munchkin. The donuts were amazing, but I think I would have preferred the beer flight over the coffee cocktails, still good all the same. This spot is definitely a can’t miss. The mimosa flight also looked like a delicious option.
That night was our bar crawl. We stopped at a bunch of spots down Broadway, but my favorite hole in the wall was Doc Holliday’s which offered some cheap shot options and a dart board, but I wouldn’t expect a clean bathroom or anything like that. Of course we had to try the nachos at Margaritaville and they had some good drink specials for the bar crawl. Nashville Underground had a bull ride spot downstairs and a great bar to watch the game upstairs. We of course ended up back at Jason Aldean’s by the end of the night once again.
Barlines was a very convenient spot for us to check out, so we grabbed some lunch there, and it was also a great spot to watch any sports games. That night I grabbed some Indian food for dinner at Sitar, which was across the street from our hotel, and it was incredibly good, so I was very impressed.

We splurged one day with lunch at Restoration Hardware’s Nashville restaurant. The restaurant was really cool, and had some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. There was a fountain inside and the seats were couches and very classy. I got one of the most amazing salads I’ve ever had.
Loser’s Bar was another spot that we headed to to drink. It had some great live music and lots of drink options. after heading over there. We also ended up at Jason Aldean’s again, since it’s always very fun, and almost everyone was wearing costumes to celebrate Halloween this time. We grabbed some food from a street vender before Ubering back late that night.
You’ve probably heard of Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk. It’s a very popular music venue downtown with multiple floors. It’s right on the main strip, so you can’t miss it, and it’s definitely worth a visit too. It’s a great vibe, and similar prices to the rest of the area, no surprise there. They have a lot of beer options and some good food options too.
There is SO Much to Do
We checked out a couple murals before heading back to unwind back at the hotel. If you want a good tour to get all your sightseeing done in an easy way, consider this Mural, Brewery Sightseeing tour. Then we got dressed in our Halloween costumes and went straight to the bar crawl downtown sponsored by Crawl with Us. If you are going at a different time of year, here’s a popular one to check out. This is a great way to meet people and learn what bars are worth checking out.
Our trip also included some general tourist shopping. I would highly recommend checking out the Assembly Food Hall, they have a ton of options and it’s a great place to walk around and check out some shops. Next to the stadium downtown was my favorite tourist shop which really introduced Nashville and had a ton of good buying options.
We checked out the Country Music Hall of Fame, which has lots of tours and it’s a great way to learn about the history. Inside that building, they have the Hatch Print Shop where we got to “kind of” make our own print, and got to learn about the history which was pretty cool. We got to take home a souvenir poster that we made ourselves.
You definitely can’t miss out on doing the Nashville Party Tractor Tour! We had an incredibly fun time on the tour, and the MC was great. The tractor goes through the streets and stops for a photo op as well. The whole thing was pretty much a drinking game, and they made sure everyone got to know each other.
Our next stop was the Belle Meade Mansion where we did a tour of the house and walked around the old plantation. The information was very interesting, such as learning that the descendants of the horse “Sea Biscuit” were all bred at that barn. I asked the tour guide a ton of questions. There were a ton of good photo ops there.
I have to add a few tidbits from a previous Nashville trip that deserve honorable mentions. Wildhorse Saloon offers FREE line dancing lessons, pretty much every hour, and they’re super fun and it’s a great way to try this dancing style out.
I can’t forget to mention the Grand Ole Oprey, which you can tour while you’re there as long as you book in advance. You should try to get tickets to a show there too! The Parthenon in Centennial Park is another can’t miss to check out while you’re in Nashville.
